Milltek Sport exhaust
The Milltek Sport exhaust system gives the BMW 1 Series M Coupe a true sports car presence that’s worthy of the M nomenclature. Milltek’s exhaust is manufactured from anti-magnetic T304 aircraft-grade stainless steel and is available in a primary (eliminates the secondary catalytic converters) and secondary cat-back system. Both systems are manufactured out of 3-inch (73.2mm) mandrel-bent piping and finished in quad 80mm GT80 exhaust tips to add beauty and sound to the 1 Series. Company tests showed the reduced backpressure and optimized flow gained an average increase of 16 horsepower with the primary system and 5 horsepower with the secondary cat-back system.
CP-E Cast Stainless Downpipe
Custom Performance Engineering’s (cp-e) cast stainless downpipe for the BMW 3.0L N55 TwinPower turbo engine takes aftermarket performance parts to an entirely new level. Designed with a FARO Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), the cp-e 5-inch cast stainless downpipe flanges, sensor location and mounting points are within 0.010-inch of the stock locations. The bellmouth design minimizes backpressure and optimizes flow. The downpipe comes with a lifetime warranty and is available with or without a cp-e custom-designed high-flow catalytic converter. $759 (+ $200 for a Spun Metallic cat)
Custom Performance Engineering
Vorshlag camber/caster plates are designed to fit the E90/E92/E93 M3 coupe and convertible, and the plates’ modular spring perch allows them to be used with coilover springs and virtually any strut type. The upper perch design allowed Vorshlag to add a sealed, double-row radial bearing to isolate the 19mm spherical bearing in the camber plate from radial turning loads of the strut shaft. In addition to being able to independently adjust camber and caster, they are designed for maximum suspension (bump) travel. Maximum camber adjustments of -2 to -3.5 degrees, depending on ride height, can be done easily with basic tools. Prices start at $439
Macht Schnell DCT Gauge Boss
In recent years BMWs have developed an annoying habit of going into limp mode whenever the fluid temperature goes beyond what BMW thinks is acceptable. A slight increase in horsepower, a weekend at the track, a spirited drive down Mulholland Dr. or a tour of Texas can sideline DCT-equipped M3s without warning. Unlike other critical fluids, the DCT gives the driver no indication of impending doom. The Macht Schnell DCT Gauge Boss dual 1/8-inch port design allows for the installation of temperature gauges to read DCT fluid temperatures both before and after the heat exchanger, giving you time to make the necessary adjustments to prevent the ECU from going into limp mode. $139
