The complexity could be minimal, but the design of the system would be extremely time consuming. It is conceivable that manufacturers currently have armies of unpaid interns crunching numbers and creating computer models to come up with a design. It's also possible that they consider it a pipe-dream. The safe bet however, is that if you see it in F1 now, you will likely see it in your road car within 8 years. Until then, maybe someone will come up with a belt buckle mounted active system for people like myself that constantly find themselves on stairs.
