With natural disasters affecting large swathes of the globe, consumers are becoming increasing aware of their impact on the environment and, as a sign of the level this has reached, hyper-perfromance carmaker Lamborghini has signed an agreement with the Italian Ministry of the Environment to collaborate on sustainability projects.

This collaboration is the first in the automotive sector for an Italian company and was signed last month by Minister Corrado Clini and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann.

Both parties intend to outline methods for measuring CO2 emissions during car production with the intention to reduce or neutralize them, eventually creating a system that can be applied from design and development to production.
