From December 6, 2012, visitors to Disney’s Epcot Center in Florida can experience a new test track courtesy of General Motors.

The new Test Track Pavilion has been designed in cooperation with a team from Chevrolet in a process that took 18 months.

The Disney team convinced GM to tell its brand story for a more youthful audience, and the result allows visitors to see inside a studio and even design their own cars. Advanced design technology enables visitors to fulfill their design, while radio frequency technology allows them to take that unique vehicle design through the entire ride, evaluating it on a thrill-ride that provides the test experience. Each guest’s design will be evaluated and scored based on how well it balanced the core attributes before the get to race the vehicle over changing terrain on a digital driving table. They can also produce and share a TV commercial starring their custom vehicle and pose for action shots in front of their design.
