If you haven’t yet driven BMWs 1M, we recommend it, highly… Though chances are, unless you know someone who knows someone, you’ll never drive one. Luckily, we have, and it’s completely and epically awesome. The M3 feels like an overweight slouch in comparison. However, with a 3-liter turbocharged straight six from the factory, turning up the boost and making the tires work harder is pretty easy.

G-Power usually focuses on superchargers, so they’re certainly no strangers to boosting BMWs. The 1M is a great platform to work on for this reason, and with the addition of the G-Power performance package, you can push the 1M effortlessly beyond the power figures of its big brother, but lets not forget about it’s weight advantage in the first place…

Starting with flow optimized downpipes, reducing the gas temperature means the turbo can work more efficiently at higher boost level. The exhaust is finished off with a titanium or carbon tail pipes, both enhancing the sound and cutting some weight, and if you want to really scare your neighbours it’s as easy as flipping the exhaust bypass switch.

To fully take advantage of the increased flow, G-Power recalibrates the ECU to make maximum horsepower and torque while still sitting comfortably within the margin of engine safety.

What good is 435hp and an equal 435 lb-ft of torque if you can’t put it down to the tarmac or bring it to a halt? G-Power upgraded the 1M with 20” Silverstone Diamond wheels, wrapped in Michelin tires measuring 255 up front and 295 out back. Can you say contact patch? To accompany the new rubber, the G-Power GM1-RS coilovers rid the 1M of any body roll, while the massive G-Power brake system, front and rear, slow this beast down. Where do we sign?
