You might be familiar with Gordon Ramsay, his delicious dishes and televised freak-outs while whipping a restaurant back into shape on Kitchen Nightmares. But among Chef Ramsay’s success is his love for Ferrari’s, and as a Ferrari owner himself, he took to a visit at the Maranello facility.
One to critique everything, it seems this visit was a break from finding fault for Ramsay. “You can feel the passion of the people working here – he said – it’s incredible, I couldn’t imagine such a place: bellissimo,” he said. And he wasn’t the only one taken back either, the Ferrari employees were a bit star-struck, too, so Gordon signed some autographs and offered photo opportunities. He also stopped by il Podio, Ferrari’s company restaurant, where he was completely satisfied by the classic bolognese tagliatelle.
But on to the fun stuff, which included not only a look at the 740hp F12berlinetta introduced by Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa, but a ride along with Ferrari test driver Raffaele de Simone on the Fiorano circuit as well. Gordon called the berlinetta “a fantastic sexy car,” everything a Ferrari should be.
What impressed the British chef most of all though? “"The perfection. I work for perfection every day and winning 3 Michelin stars was a dream, but my second biggest dream was having my first Ferrari. From the minute you step inside to the minute you get out of the car and of the Factory you have one word in mind: perfection. I mean perfection 100%, absolutely incredible. And the passion, you can feel the passion in every corner of Ferrari from all the staff: from the stitching, to putting the engine together and to these amazing test drivers. Great day: I’ve had the thrill of a lifetime…Grazie mille…Thank you".
