It’s marketing pure and simple, yet desirable nonetheless. This is the limited-run BMW M3 Matte Edition, exactly the same mechanically speaking as a standard M3, but with matte-black paintwork, black chrome accents, super-shiny 19-inch alloys and plenty of carbon fiber inside. Annoyingly, it’s only going to be available in China. BMW has made a habit of this, producing the Frozen Gray model for the USA, the Pure for Australia and the Competition Fire Orange for Japan. Even more annoying, there was already a Tiger Edition for China, which sold out quickly, despite what looked like a portrait of a breakfast cereal mascot on the headrests.
