Even though we don't get them in the States, the French make some pretty cool looking and fuel-efficient little cars. The Citroen C4 gets a new, dynamic look along with a range of new 2.0-liter Hdi diesel engines designed to emit a maximum of 120 grams of C02 per kilometer.

Ferrari says it has finally rounded out its product line with the all-new California. This V8-powered pony sprints to 100 km/h, or 62 mph, in a claimed 3.9 seconds, features what Ferrari calls a totally viable back seat--although we've got our doubts--and is unique in that it is the very first Ferrari to feature a fully automatic folding hard top. If you're they type eternally torn between wanting a coupe or a spider, well, now you can have both.

This is the Fiat 500 Limited, produced in partnership with Italian fashion designer Cappellini. Continuing a prevailing show theme for 2008, it includes Stop and Start and Ecodrive powertrain innovations to reduce carbon emissions.

Lamborghini nearly stole the show with its most recent creation. The Estoque concept is named after a short, particularly wicked sword bullfighters use to exact the final, killing stroke. Yep, it has four doors. Porsche Panamera what?

This Land Rover Freelander uses Stop and Start and Micro-hybrid technology. Assuming the technology makes it to mass production, you may be able to conquer the world's darkest corners without marring them with a big carbon footprint.

This Lotus Evora looks about as close to production-spec as one might hope. It's powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing around 280 hp and represents the world's only mid-engined two-plus-two sport coupe.

The model year 2009 Lotus Exige 260 Cup uses advanced lightweight mechanical components and carbon-fiber body panels to reduce weight by more than 80 pounds compared to last year's Exige Cup. Power output remains the same at 257 hp, but the car's total weight has been reduced to less than 2,000 pounds overall.

This is the back seat in the new Maybach Landaulet, an ultra-decadent, limited version of the Maybach 62 S. Most people's living quarters should be so nice.

Although it's already been introduced to the automotive press, Maserati introduced the updated Quattroporte, and the new 4.7-liter, 430-hp Quattroporte S, to the rest of the world. Look for our review in the December issue.

The Mercedes-Benz Concept Fascination is the latest design study from Sindelfingen. It is reportedly full of design cues and technological innovations that will begin showing up in full-production Mercedes vehicles as early as next year.

The Mercedes-Benz S400 BlueHybrid is powered by a 3.5-liter V6, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The manufacturer claims it will be the world's most efficient luxury car when it goes on sale late in 2009.

...and just across the way, the car that reportedly beat it around the Nrburgring. No, Nissan's GTR is definitely not European. But it seems to have put all of Europe on notice.

Aside from the new Lamborghini four-door, the Peugeot RC Concept may have been the coolest-looking car at the show. Its aim is to provide high levels of efficiency with equal parts performance, with a potential of 300-plus hp and 109 grams of C02 emissions per kilometer in its combined hybrid cycle.

Porsche introduced two special-edition versions of existing vehicle models. The Cayman S Sport, like the Boxster S Sport before it, features a smidge more power from its mid-mounted flat six and special equipment like unique, multi-spoke black-out wheels and shocking orange paint. The Cayenne S Transsyberia looks to be a nod to the balls-out off-road adventure which bears the same name.

The Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 will be produced in a limited run of just 500 units. It features a 303-hp 3.4-liter flat six, special brilliant white paint and 19-inch SportDesign wheels.
