Continental Tire has introduced its new all-season performance tire called TrueContact. It features EcoPlus Technology that is claimed to provide better wear and best-in-class wet braking, by up to 30ft better than a leading competitor. The company also states this can save up to $550 over the life of the tire, presumably in a reduction of fuel consumption and replacement costs. Designed for everything from passenger cars to minivans, TrueContact has Conti's Comfort Ride Technology to absorb road irregularities, Tuned Performance Indicators that advise you when to change the tires depending on conditions, as well as a new Alignment Verification System. The latter will let you know if your alignment is off, allowing you to correct a potentially expensive problem, providing you check the tire tread regularly. What's more, TrueContact comes with a 60-day trial period and up to 90,000-mile treadlife limited warranty plus a 72-month manufacturer's limited warranty program. The tires range from 15-19" diameters with a UTQG rating of 800.
Neuspeed wheel options
Neuspeed announced new finish options for the popular 18" RSe52 wheels. Now owners of the Mk5/6/7 VW models can choose either red or machined silver wheels that otherwise offer the same concepts as Neuspeed's other wheels. The RSe52 displays smooth styling and simple lines, creating a clean design for late-model Audi or Volkswagen vehicles. The RSe52 is available in 18x8" and 18x9" and features a concave hub that provides weight savings as well as depth to the wheel. Weighing a meager 19.5 lb, the RSe52 will enhance your driving experience by reducing the rotational mass and unsprung weight.
BMW 335i intercooler
Mishimoto has developed a bar-n-plate intercooler specifically for BMW 335i, 335xi, and 135i. The all-aluminum core is 5" thick and is a direct-fit. It provides a 22% increase in core volume without needing to modify the vehicle. It's constructed with cast-end tanks and CNC-machined aluminum quick-connects for use with factory piping. The intercooler is available in either a silver or black finish and the company claims installation will take less than one hour, reducing temps and increasing power. It also includes a lifetime warranty.
AEM coil drivers
AEM has released simple-to-install one- and three-channel versions of its popular ignition coil drivers for distributed and six-cylinder racing engine applications, respectively. The three-channel is designed for racers who want to convert the ignition system to a coil-on-plug setup without using a CDI. They are also ideal for racing vehicles, ATVs, motorcycles and snowmobiles with space limitations. The coil drivers power two-wire coils in COP applications and can also replace stock coil drivers.
Dinan sway bars
Dinan Engineering has introduced new sway bar kits for the F10 BMW M5, F12/F13 M6 and F06 M6 Gran Coupe. Using lightweight tubular steel, the bars measure 28mm front and 22mm rear, reducing body roll, improving grip and stability, while saving weight. The Dinan bars have several mounting holes that work in conjunction with the company's adjustable end-links to allow the driver to tailor the handling, varying from 35-53% stiffer than the stock front bar, and 39-72% stiffer than the rear.
Forge tool tray
Forge Motorsport has introduced its classic mechanic's tool tray, built to last a lifetime. Measuring 12x19x10", the tray was previously only available to sponsored race teams, but now professionals and enthusiasts can enjoy the simple lines and functionality of this tray. Hand-fabricated from aerospace-grade aluminum, it features drilled holes to store smaller tools, as well as a comfortable, large-radius handle. It's available in two finishes; Stealth crackle black or brushed aluminum.
VW Scirocco suspension
A new Bilstein B12 suspension kit has been engineered for owners of the Mk2 VW Scirocco, balancing handling and comfort with appearance. The kit consists of four Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs and matched Bilstein dampers. It offers a drop of 25-30mm and everything was thoroughly tested before release. The springs have been pre-stressed, shot-peened and tempered, before receiving a two-stage zinc-phosphate and electrostatic epoxy coating for durability. The kit comes with a two-year warranty.
Billet dogbone mount
034 Motorsport has a new dogbone engine mount for the Mk4 VW and 8L/8N Audi platforms. It was manufactured from billet aluminum and designed with performance in mind. It features a genuine Aurora spherical bearing and track-density rubber bushing to maintain proper articulation, contribute to vibration damping and eliminate the slop associated with the factory mount. The result is a locked-down drivetrain, solid shifting and virtually no wheel hop thanks to a major reduction in engine movement under load that generates a more direct power transfer for the improved shifting feel.
M3 Torque Booster Tube
Designed by aFe for the 2001-07 E46 BMW M3, its Magnum Force Torque Booster Tube is designed for the company's stage 1 intake system, allowing existing customers to convert the stage 1 into its stage 2 intake. Alternatively, the tube can replace the factory intake elbow on the OE air intake system, if you choose. Constructed from reinforced silicone, it offers improved airflow by reducing turbulence. Supplied with two stainless steel clamps, installation is simple, requiring no cutting or drilling.
