Turner Motorsport’s BMW M3 Details:

  • Turner Motorsport’s GS class BMW M3 will feature retro livery at Lime Rock Park, CT
  • Last time Grand-Am road racing will visit Lime Rock Park
  • New livery was recreated from Speed World Challenge E46 325i touring car
  • Race on Sept. 28, 2013

BMW tuner, Turner Motorsport’s GS class BMW M3 will feature a retro livery at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut this Saturday Sept. 28 as the 2013 Grand-Am season comes to an end. The upcoming race will mark the last time ever that Grand-Am road racing will visit the historic 1.57 mile 7-turn track, and potentially the last time Turner Motorsport will race the iconic BMW M3 at the BMW-sponsored track, as Lime Rock is not on the 2014 United Sports Car Series schedule.

The new No. 97 GS class M3 livery may look familiar to some race car fans, and that’s because it was recreated from the Speed World Challenge E46 325i touring car which ran at Lime Rock in 2003. Will Turner, who in 2002, led the most laps and the most miles and had the most fastest laps will partner with Don Salama during the race. They will be together for the first time since 2009 at Laguna Seca where they made history as the first E90 chassis BMW to win in Grand-Am racing in the No. 95 328i ST class BMW.

"Lime Rock is my favorite race of the year – it's great to reconnect with friends, fans and of course drive the challenging and exciting track itself," Will Turner Said, "This year – I get to race with Salama, he is no spring chicken, I hope he is still fast."

The Lime Rock Park race is a special one for Turner Motorsports as they celebrate 20 years of racing and its 280th professional race start at the circuit. The Lime Rock Park 2013 finale also marks the last race for both the No. 93 and No. 94 GT class M3's as Turner Motorsport will turn to different cars for the 2014 United Sports Car Racing inaugural season.

Tune in to LIVE on FOX Sports 2 Friday afternoon for the CTSCC street tuner race at 3:25pm, and on Saturday for the CTSCC GS race at 9:50am followed by the Rolex Series autograph sessions and fan walk. At 1:35 the Rolex Sports Car Series will take the green flag.
