Back un March, a company called VUHL Automotive announced it would be
building a road-legal lightweight supercar, to be called the VUHL 05.
VUHL (pronounced 'vool') is an acronym for Vehicles of Ultra High-performance
and Lightweight. It's the brainchild of brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria.
Their design company is based in Mexico City and comes from hands-on
experience in GT and formula racing, where they successfully built and
campaigned racecars over a 30-year period with their father, Guillermo
The company is backed by a number of blue-chip companies and the Mexican
government. The vehicle's bodies will be fabricated in Canada, with final
assembly conducted by Adman Leku in Mexico City. VUHL's partners will include
Ford, Multimatic, and now Michelin has signed on as tire supplier.
Releasing new images of the car being tested in secret, VUHL Automotive has
announced it will make its global public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
in England on July 11-14, 2013.
