Following its debut appearance at last year's Daytona 24-hour race, APR Motorsport will return in 2013 with a pair of the cars they introduced the to the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series in January.

Piloting the #52 APR Audi R8 will be German drivers Rene Rast, Marc Basseng and Frank Stippler. The latter two return to APR after driving the same car at last season's Sahlen's Six Hours at the Glen, where the Audi qualified second but all three have impressive resumes in endurance GT racing, and Stippler has even been a development driver for the Audi R8 LMS since 2008.

Basseng actually won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2007 driving in the GT class and has the past four seasons competing in the GT1 World Championship. He also has but has class wins in the 12 Hours of Bathurst and the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in an Audi R8 LMS.

Established APR driver Ian Baas, from Indianapolis will also be part of APR's driver lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. He will be doing double-duty driving with Michael Taylor in the Continental Tires Sport Car Challenge the same weekend.

A driver announcement for the #51 APR Audi R8 will be made in the coming weeks. The team will also reveal a new livery at the Rolex 24 that will be used throughout the 2013 season. Both of the cars will appear in an interim livery at the Roar Before the 24 test session. The big race takes place on January 26, 2013 at 3:30PM ET.
