As part of the Jerusalem Peace Road Show, Ferrari took to the streets of
Jerusalem to run a 1.7-mile course in front of 60,000 spectators.
The course ran through the inclined streets of the city and, although it was split
into three separate sections, Giancarlo Fisichella was still able to reach 125mph
in the Ferrari F60 F1 car. He did a total of ten runs and delighted the crowd with
burnouts and simulated race starts.
"It was a fantastic feeling," said Giancarlo. "Driving in front of so many people in
such a historic place was very exciting, as indeed was visiting the Old City this
morning. It's been a truly memorable day for me."
The event was organized by the Jerusalem City Council and Ferrari was there at
the request of Kaspersky Lab, one of the teams partners.
A second event on the following day saw three F430s and one 458 Challenge
from the Ferrari Challenge run on the same course.
Scuderia Ferrari has committed to similar event already this year, previously
staging demonstration runs in Rio de Janeiro and Warsaw, with another set for
mid-July in Moscow.
