In commemoration of AMG's 40th anniversary, only 40 examples of this limited-edition CL65 will be built, 20 of which will be sent to the US. Although looks are subjective, we could hardly imagine anyone whose pulse wouldn't quicken at the sight of this. Kind of like a Victoria's Secret model endowed with super-powers. The flared fenders are asking to be caressed. The exhaust tips keep the attention longer than any other exhaust tips in history. And the whole thing is covered in AMG Alubeam. Yeah, we had to find out too. Alubeam is a new paint process. Conventional pigment particles measure somewhere between 100 and 300 nanometers. The Alubeam equivalents measure from 30 to 50 nanometers, providing a more even surface. A clear coat goes on top of that to protect against scratches, weathering and the inevitable bird poo. The result is a beautiful liquid metal finish that just has to be seen to be fully appreciated.The special edition also receives AMG sport seats skinned with two-tone 'Exclusive Passion' nappa leather stitched in a diamond pattern and a color-coordinated Alcantara roof lining. Carbon trim elements, a classy IWC-designed analog clock, and an exclusive 'one out of 40' badge on the COMAND controller handrest complete the package. The special 40th Anniversary Limited Edition CL65 should reach the US by October and cost around $200,000. If only our funds weren't so limited.
