Out-Of-The-Box Vantage Racer
Give credit to Aston's main man in vehicle engineering, a certain Chris Porritt, for this effort. A one-off V8 Vantage coupe is being built to compete in the 2006 edition of the Nrburgring 24-hour race, and production versions will soon be available in very limited numbers for aspiring racers to compete in national GT. Whether or not it's as competitive as a Porsche Cup car could be questionable, but it's a whole lot cooler and rarer. Hand-built, 410 hp coupled to six gears, Speedline wheels, and it weighs almost 600 pounds less than a standard Vantage coupe. Bring a check for 90,000 pounds Sterling and call ahead for an appointment at Gaydon. The only way to get this baby is directly from the factory.
