A few decades ago, a listless youngster named Reeves Callaway began fiddling with Volkswagens. Using the handsome second-gen Scirocco as a base, Callaway turbocharged its 1.8-liter 8-valve engine and increased power from 74 hp to 117. The 2,300-pound coupe managed zero to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 141 mph.
We'd like to see the Callaway magic again, maybe on an R32 or the new Scirocco.It would be a lot more exciting than swinging golf clubs.
