PLX Devices DM-100 OLED gauge
Manufacturers generally do a good job of keeping drivers in the dark about what's going on under the hood. And there are some things you really need to know. Aftermarket gauges are plentiful, but you typically need more than one. Finding a gauge pod to install a single gauge cleanly is a challenge and when attempting to install multiples, it often looks tacky. PLX Devices has a solution: the DM-100, a multi-purpose gauge that fits into a 2 1/16-inch (52 mm) mount featuring an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display. It allows up to 32 different sensor modules to be combined into one gauge. By operating the four-button remote, the user can scroll through boost, air/fuel ratio, fluid temperatures and exhaust gas temperature readings-or display multiple readings-all in one gauge interface.
Even more innovative is the ability to view the data in more than one format: standard gauge style, numeric, graph-plot or four-parameter style. The DM-100 also allows users to customize their own interface or choose from hundreds of pre-set readings designed to match most interiors. If there isn't one available for your particular vehicle, the company will design one. Installation is easy, as are the software updates for the display module via USB port.
Added benefits include high and low peak-hold functions, which allow the verification of data points that might occur too quickly for the eye to see. The integrated warning trigger feature allows the user to program trigger values for each sensor module, helping to protect against engine failure by giving the driver advance notice of possible failures. $209
