Evolution of a Skid Lid
It starts as an idea put down on paper, then progresses through various stages with different layers of paint and clear going on. The blank helmet is scuffed (top, center) for better media retention. Note how the red edging of the final design is the original color. Now that's planning. Special adhesive is used as a base for the gold leaf. The final photo (bottom, right) shows a machine-turned effect being applied. Beautiful.
