About Evosport

Revolution Evosport Staff

I've always believed loving a career makes you do it better. You could say the same thing about the guys at Evosport. They love cars, love making them perform better, love driving them. You can tell by the way Evosport's founders, Brad Otoupalik and Simon Atik, become all giddy when discussing new Rotora brake applications, superchargers and negative camber... that sort of stuff. Since 1999, Evosport has been making BMWs, Mercedes and the occasional Ferrari go faster, both on the street and on the race track. The idea was to have a one-stop facility, a place to cover all performance and aesthetic enhancements. We've covered Evosport cars in past issues of ec and they all follow the same no-bullshit performance arc.

Located in Huntington Beach, Calif., Evosport's shop isn't particularly big or eye-catching. It is, however, filled to the roof with performance hardware and a long line of customer cars waiting their turn on one of the shop's four lifts. Outside sits Evosport's sizable race rig, holding the company's E46 and E30 M3 club racers. The entire Evosport crew numbers about 12, and each one is so busy he barely notices my presence.

Evosport has the hardware to perform everything from minor mods to major engine overhauls. They've also got a Dynojet chassis dyno we've spun more than a few times. Our Project Editor, Pablo Mazlumian, discovered this after blowing his engine for like, the fourth time. This last build seems to be the charm, as Pablo's M3 is alive and kicking thanks to Evosport.

Evosport carries products tested on their active club-racing schedule. You won't find neon light kits or gigantic fiberglass wings in the catalog. You will, however, find a sizable selection of AFE intakes, Rotora brakes, AEM management systems, VFE superchargers, Vorsteiner aerodynamics and Evosport's own line of headers and underdrive pulleys. Quality hardware coupled with an extremely talented staff; I'd feel secure leaving my beloved M3 in Evosport's capable hands for a little TLC. In fact, I just may do that.--L.B.
