Among the giants gathered here, Fred Courtot's Porsche earned the right to call itself the mightiest of the mighty. Cranking out a mind-boggling 563.7 hp (measured at the wheels), Fred walked away with the most horsepower, a none-too-easy feat given the formidable competition. The combination of Evolution Motorsport's hardware and GIAC's brilliant programming conspired to leave Fred's car truly fearsome, managing to clear the GIAC facility while it raged on the dyno. If we had to live in a Porsche for an extended stay, Fred's Porsche would do just fine. It was perhaps the most developed car of the lot and something of a poster boy for modified 911s. The athletic wear from TechArt includes its GTS front bumper, GTS rear wing, side skirts and headlamp lids. A Strosek wing crowns the roof. The cabin was equipped with GT3 seats, Porsche's Tequipment rollcage and TeamTec racing five-point harnesses. In addition to the premium Bose sound system, the car has been fitted with a Kenwood TouchScreen LCD CD/DVD/MP3, Alpine navigation system, Bearcar scanner and Precision CarStereo's video input/output/ac outlet. The rearview mirror has been rigged with a Beast Power/Valentine One radar detector. Carnewal steering wheel and racing pedals, Beast Power carbon-fiber door sills and an OG Racing camera mount complete the impressive cabin. It was somewhat surprising Fred allowed pro driver Cort Wagner to beat on his baby--cars this nice rarely see such abuse. Fred was a great sport, however, and actually urged Cort to push it harder. "Go ahead, break it...I'll just get a new one tomorrow."
We should all live like that.
Explosive power; hits hard with not a lot of ramping up on boost; pretty sudden hit. Chassis too soft for the track; hands correcting a bunch; not very predictable on corner entry and pushes on exit. Street tires really hampered what might have been a great car on the track. Motor sounded very cool. Difficult to compare this to a car with Cup tires, as it is really a whole different analysis.
