Ninth Place
Axis Sport Tuning
Initially, we wanted a factory version of the 911 Turbo for use as a base vehicle. We wanted to see just how far the other competitors had progressed or, heaven forbid, regressed.
That said, the folks at Axis Sport Tuning offered up its Porsche as the sacrificial lamb...for a while, anyway. Before long, the call for more performance raised its siren voice, leading Tavis Tan, owner of this 2003 911, on a clandestine search for more power. In a mere 15 hours, Tavis and Teddy Hiraoka of Mavrik Motorsport bolted on the modified turbos, exhaust and JIC suspension. So much for a stock car. Comparatively speaking, however, this Porsche was the least developed of the lot, and while its overall points left it in ninth place, it is still more capable than the factory car. Its 1/4-mile time is more than a second faster than stock, coming in at an impressive 11.78. Given this is a daily-driven street car, it's still a winner in anyone's book.
