English company Revo Technik, which specializes in Audi/Volkswagen performance parts, brought its 2012 Volkswagen GTI to compete in the FWD class of the 2013 Tuner GP. It was one of two FWD cars, the other being the FSWerks Focus ST.

On the power end, the Mk6 GTI was fitted with a Revo Technik K04 turbocharger, the company’s stage 3 software and cold-air intake, Eurojet front-mount intercooler and 3” turbo-back exhaust system.

Robin Roemisch, Revo engineer said, “This is mostly my daily driver and a car we use for development. It sees the track a good bit when we play but it’s comfy and street legal. We’re running prototype suspension that we just custom valved along with some new sway link hardware. I’m very confident in this car.”

The GTI put down 355.3hp and 366.2 lb-ft of torque, which is more than they were expecting. However, the driver confessed to having zero experience at the Willow Springs’ Streets circuit. Would that be a big enough disadvantage to hold them back in the remaining competitions? Read the full coverage in the February 2014 issue to find out.
